1. Expect a Mostly Sunny Monday with a High Near 68 in Foxborough

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Monday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. South wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

2. School Committee Meets Monday at Foxborough High School

Foxborough’s School Committee will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the media center of Foxborough High School to discuss the following business:

3. National Grid Unions Vote to Authorize Strike

National Grid utility workers unions voted this past Friday to authorize a strike due to several issues involving personnel payroll and storm response, according to an article on BostonHerald.com 

Comprised of six local unions, the Brotherhood of Utility Workers and Local 369 have taken the vote as union representatives are in the middle of negotiations to replace the contract that expires May 11.

“The mistakes and mismanagement at this company are out of control," said Dan Hurley president of the Brotherhood of Utility Workers Council and Local 369. “The continuous failures of National Grid are a direct slap in the face to ratepayers and taxpayers throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This is clearly a company in crisis.”

The utility workers unions members say that they haven't received pay checks on time in multiple pay periods and that tax documents were given late.

5. Foxborough Resident Wins $10K a Week for Life at Stadium Gulf

Stadium Gulf owner Richard Carrigg told Foxborough Patch his 20 Washington St. business recently sold a grand prize “$10,000 a Week for Life” winning ticket to a “loyal customer” from Foxborough.

Below is Carrig’s official statement regarding the news: 

“Management and staff of Stadium Gulf were overjoyed to hear of a local Foxborough resident having recently won the grand prize of $10,000 a Week for Life from the Massachusetts State Lottery,” Carrig said. “We are thrilled to announce the Massachusetts State Lottery has confirmed the winning ticket was purchased from our establishment, by a loyal local customer. We are committed to serving the Foxboro community, and the communities surrounding, and to hear a customer of ours for many years has prospered gives myself and our employees a great sense of pride.”

The identity of the winner has not been released.
