1. Chance of Thunderstorms, Rain This Weekend in Foxborough

Saturday’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Patchy fog between 9 and 10 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 73. South wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Saturday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Patchy fog after 3 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 54. Southwest wind 6 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Sunday: Scattered showers, mainly between 8 a.m. and noon. Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 71. West wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

2. Support Foxboro’s Food Pantry Through Saturday’s Postal Food Drive

Support the Foxboro Food Pantry during the 21st annual NALC National Food Drive Saturday by leaving nonperishable food items by your mailbox. Your letter carrier will collect the food and deliver it to the pantry. In the past, the postal food drive has been a great source of food to get the food pantry through the summer months. The need for food increases in the summer when the children are home and not receiving free and reduced lunches at school.

3. Congressman Joe Kennedy Visits Foxborough Saturday

On Saturday, Congressman Joe Kennedy III will begin the day at the Mansfield DTC breakfast, followed by office hours for constituents in Lakeville. After that he will campaign with Congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Ed Markey, before ending the day in Foxborough at the Evergreen Center’s 30th anniversary celebration.

The celebration will begin at 7 p.m. at Demetri’s Function Hall.
