2. Foxborough High School Class Ring Finally Found After 40 Years

Through an incredible twist of fate a Foxborough High School class ring that’s been lost for 40 years has finally found its way back to its rightful owner, according to an article in The Sun Chronicle.

Someone reportedly found the class ring in the Boyden Library a few years ago and turned it in to the library’s lost and found. Staffers, with nothing to go on except the initials KJB and the class year 1973, tried finding a matching name in the 1973 yearbook and made some phone calls, but they were unsuccessful, according to the Associated Press via The Sun Chronicle.

‘‘I didn’t think we'd ever find the owner,’’ Boyden Library circulation assistant Ann Herman told The Sun Chronicle.

But they did a few weeks ago, according to the newspaper. Someone overheard Bill Milhomme discussing the changing nature of class rings with another librarian.

They pulled out the yearbook, and found a picture of a shaggy-haired youth, Kristopher John Brooks.

The librarians gave Brooks’ name to Milhomme, an archivist, who picked up the search on the Internet, according to the AP. He found that Brooks, 57, is a teacher and musician living in Edmonton, Alberta.

Milhomme tracked down a number and the library mailed Brooks the ring.

‘‘My family had checked into getting another ring made several times, because the loss was very disappointing, but I'd much rather have the original,’’ Brooks told the newspaper.
