The school is divided into two Sage teams that ‘race’ by collecting change to raise money for a project that the Service at Sage Committee has chosen in El Salvador called Broadening Horizons.

This project aims to increase the interest in and access to unique educational experiences for youth by organizing an activity day (led by Peace Corps Volunteers) for youth introducing science experiments, arts and crafts and teamwork building activities and by training local teachers and youth outreach volunteers to lead these activities and incorporate them into schools on a permanent basis. Collectively, Sage raised $1,228.58 for Kids to Kids World Connect.

5. Jeff Bailey Could Challenge Sen. Timilty Again

Jeff Bailey, who unsuccessfully ran against Democratic state Sen. James Timilty last year, could try a second challenge next year. However, the Republican pastor will likely stay out of the race, and attempt to dethrone Attleboro State Rep. Paul Heroux.

Speaking last week during the Attleboro Republican City Committee meeting at the All Saints Anglican Church, Bailey said he would run for state office in 2014.

"I'm not committing to anything, but right now I'm kind of leaning toward the State Rep. seat," said Bailey, adding, "We'll see what the landscape looks like for state Senate as well."

Timilty represents Foxborough, Mansfield, Norton, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Medfield, Walpole and portions of Attleboro and Sharon.
