Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. Friday night: A slight chance of showers before 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Northwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. Today is Good Friday in Foxborough

Good Friday occurs two days before Easter Sunday and is known as the day when Christians commemorate Jesus Christ's crucifixion. Schools in Foxborough are closed to observe the religious holiday. Click here to find Good Friday and Easter weekend church services in Foxborough.

3. Field Condition Forces Early Postponements in Foxborough Spring Sports Season

The Foxborough High School spring sports season was scheduled to begin Monday, April 1 with the Warriors’ girls’ lacrosse team hosting Norwood. Field conditions, however, have forced FHS Athletic Director Caitlin Brown to postpone that game to April 8 and Tuesday’s boys’ lacrosse game against Mansfield to April 12. There is still no word on Tuesday’s FHS baseball opener vs. Mansfield.

“I am not sure about baseball, we are waiting to see how our field is doing before we make a determination,” Brown said.

5. Foxboro Center for Women’s & Family Health Welcomes Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Physician Owen Debowy

The physicians and staff at the Foxboro Center for Women’s & Family Health welcome Dr. Owen Debowy to the practice. He joins fellow physicians Drs. Lawrence Greb, Lisa Matthews, Ralph Philosophe and Rachel Wulf.

Dr. Debowy received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, and completed his Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Debowy is accepting new patients. Appointments can be made by calling (508) 698-0044.

The Foxboro Center for Women’s & Family Health is conveniently located at 18 Washington St. in Foxborough. The Center offers both Primary Care and Ob/Gyn medicine, and has a wide range of services available.

They include 24-hour physician call coverage, private family planning and fertility counseling, an on-site laboratory, ultrasound, and minor surgeries. The Foxboro Center for Women’s & Family Health is one of 16 practices managed by Sturdy Memorial Associates and is affiliated with Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
