5 Things: Foxborough Traffic Advisory Issued, Photos of Dunkin' Donuts Burglary Suspects Released & More

1. Expect a Sunny Friday with a High Near 72 in Foxborough

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for sunny, with a high near 72. Northwest wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Calm wind.

2. Roadwork: Weekend Lane Restrictions on I-95 Foxborough

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is set to begin its bridge deck surface replacement project on I-95 South Friday and as such, has alerted motorists in Foxborough to expect possible traffic delays due to lane restrictions.

The bridge deck surface replacement project on I-95 Southbound over Green Street (Route 106) will require lane restrictions beginning on Friday, May 17th, at 8 p.m., through Monday, May 20th, 5 a.m., weather permitting, according to MassDOT.

At 8 p.m. on Friday, traffic will be restricted from three lanes to two lanes on the Southbound roadway to perform pavement marking and install temporary concrete barriers to allow for the two high speed lanes of the bridge deck to allow deck surface replacement.

There will be two available alternate routes, which will be announced using Message Boards and signs at I-95 Southbound, Route 1 and Southbound Route 140. The alternate routes are Route 1 South @ Exit 9 to I-495 South back to I-95 or Route 140 South Exit 7A to I-495 North back to I-95.

Bridge deck work will continue 24 hours a day over the weekend into Monday morning or until the work is finished. To allow certain construction operations, traffic will be restricted to one lane late at night.

Traffic will be restored to three lanes Southbound for the Monday morning commute beginning at 5 a.m.

3. Foxborough Police Release Photos of Dunkin’ Donuts Burglary Suspects

Foxborough police released photos of two suspects from the May 7th burglary at Dunkin’ Donuts at 16 Washington St. Route 1.

“These two suspects committed a breaking and entering at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 16 Washington St. in the early morning hours of May 7th,” police said via Facebook. “Both suspects were wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts and left the store with a large jar of change. Walpole Police and a Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit assisted Foxborough officers who tracked a scent to the Meadowview Road area where the scent was lost.

5. Reminder: Foxboro Jaycees Spring Fair on the Common is Saturday

The Foxboro Jaycees are hosting its third annual Spring Fair on the Common on Saturday, May 18th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

About 50 local artists, crafters, and vendors are expected to fill the town Common for the event. Products offered will include handmade quilts and clothing, woodworking, soaps and other body care products, specialty foods, pet accessories, handbags, candles and scented warmers, hand-crafted jewelry, photographs, painted glass, children's clothing, games and toys and so much more.

There will also be a bouncy house for the kids and raffle items available.

This fundraising event for the Foxboro Jaycees will help fund several community programs the organization coordinates, such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Caroling on the Common, Holiday Decorations for the Common, Bandstand repair, Fruit baskets for the Foxboro Discretionary Fund, Sand for Seniors and other local causes they support.
