While a DJ has already been secured, other activities are still undecided. Would you like to help bring new life to the event?  Do you have connections to local sources of entertainment to help switch things up a bit, or are you willing to take on the challenge of finding some?

Each year cancer survivors are celebrated with a dinner reception to thank them for the inspiration they provide in motivating all of us to take action. This is an important aspect of Relay, and many hands are needed to ensure the survivors and their caregivers are properly honored. Would you be willing to provide help in this special way?

Relay is a family event, but the long hours can quickly become overwhelming to our younger participants.  The children’s tent crushes the boredom and gives them a special spot to connect and celebrate. Do you have any creative ideas to share with kids in mind? Are you upbeat and lively enough to keep up with the little ones?

There are many ways to help out in preparation for and during this overnight event; some require very little time but are nevertheless essential to the success of Relay.  If you would like to lend your time and talents to our family of volunteers, please contact one of the following: ACS Staff Partner Katie Boutilier at Katie.Boutilier@cancer.org, 508-897-4322, Relay Co-Coordinator Amy Walker at aw1529@verizon.net, 508-337-9928, or Relay Co-Coordinator Lisa Balzarini at l.balzarini@verizon.net, 617-921-9312.

The next planning committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. (South Foxboro Community Center, 382 South St., Foxborough).
