Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1 and 4 p.m. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Friday night: Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 65. South wind 6 to 8 mph.

2. Trader Joe's Opening at Patriot Place Today

The day Trader Joe's opens in Foxborough has finally arrived.

When the ceremonial Lei is cut at 8 a.m. Friday, Trader Joe's will officially be open for business at its location in Foxborough. To help welcome Trader Joe's to the community, "Pat Patriot" and the 2012-13 Patriots cheerleaders will join Trader Joe’s Captain (store manager) David Ford, Regional VP Chris Maguire and the crew for a lei cutting ceremony to welcome new customers – Trader Joe’s style. The festivities will continue throughout the day with live music, free raffles for prizes, food demos and more.

Trader Joe's at Patriot Place is approximately 16,000 square feet – filling the space formerly occupied by Circuit City - and will be the 18th Massachusetts location – the first in the company’s chain that’s fully integrated into an NFL stadium site.

The new location – 350 Patriot Place, adjacent to - will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, is scheduled to offer beer and wine and will have plenty of customer parking spaces. The store will feature a festive décor that mixes traditional Trader Joe’s elements such as cedar covered walls and Hawaiian motifs, combined with a local flair that includes art celebrating the neighborhood and the hometown team, the New England Patriots.

3. Warriors’ Game Day:

The following Foxborough High School sports teams are in action today:

  • Football at East Longmeadow, 7 p.m.
  • Boys' soccer vs. Mansfield, 3:30 p.m.
  • Girls' soccer @ Mansfield, 6:15 p.m.
  • Field Hockey @ Mansfield, 3:30 p.m.

4. Events:

  • 8 p.m. - The Yardbirds performs at Showcase Live: By now, everyone knows the Yardbirds legend, if not their music; the band graduated three of the great Ph.D.s of rock guitar: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page.

5. Cindi's Diamond and Jewelry Gallery Hosts Fall Kick-Off Event

Cindi's Diamond and Jewelry Gallery, 40 Central St., is holding a fall kick-off event from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Have you looked at your jewelry lately?  Especially your rings – All the summer fun of, sunscreen, beach sand, cook-outs, hand lotion, soap residue can wreak havoc on your jewelry. Bring it to Cindi's for a little fall TLC. Your jewelry will be professionally cleaned and inspected for free. Not just rings, all of your jewelry needs a little TLC. Refreshments will be served, free hand massages and a chance to win a fabulous prize.
