5 Things for Sept. 6: State Primary, Cruise Night, Audition Workshop at Orpheum and More

Here's five things you need to know today in Foxborough: State Primary will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Ahern Middle School, Foxborough High School sports are in action and Patriot Place will be hosting its bi-weekly cruise night.

1. Expect a Sunny Thursday in Foxborough

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. A slight chance of showers after 1 a.m. Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southwest wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. State Primary to be Held at Ahern Middle School Gym

Today is the State Primary in Massachusetts. Polls will be open in Foxborough from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ahern Middle School gymnasium. If you are registered in a party, Democratic, Republican, or Green Rainbow, you must choose that party's ballot. If you are registered as unenrolled, you may choose any one of the three ballots. Here’s a look at what you will be voting on Thursday:

3. Warriors’ Game Day:

The following Foxborough High School sports teams are in action today:

  • Boys’ golf at King Philip (Wentworth Country Club), 3:30 p.m.
  • Girls’ volleyball vs. Mansfield, 4:45 p.m.

4. Events:

  • 11 a.m. - Bounce Houses: Jump around all afternoon in inflatable bounce houses. Located in the North Marketplace outside of Red Robin. Have a blast as the kids bounce the day away.
  • 3 to 6 p.m. - Farmers Market at Patriot Place: Attend the Patriot Place Farmers Market featuring the freshest and finest from local growers and purveyors across New England.
  • 4:30 p.m. - Mass Cruisers Auto Club - FREE Cruise Night: The Mass Cruisers Auto Club, Bass Pro Shops and Patriot Place want you to once again enjoy your evening of cruising nostalgia and fun.
  • 9 p.m. – Club Night at LEVEL ONE at CBS Scene: Join CBS Scene at its new nightclub LEVEL ONE where DJ Plan B will be spinning the hottest music all night long.

5. Audition Workshop at Orpheum Theatre

The Un-Common Theatre Company will be holding an audition workshop at The Orpheum Theatre Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $25 and enrollment is limited. The workshop focuses on helping performers from second grade to adults with overcoming audition anxiety and getting the most out of his or her performance. Michael Hammond and Paula Bishop lead the workshop – teaching actors the tools needed to stand out from the crowd.
