5 Things for Nov. 30: Voter Registration Deadline for STM, Winter Parking Ban, Live Music and More

Here's five things you need to know in Foxborough for today, Nov. 30.

1. Expect a Cold and Cloudy Friday in Foxborough

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for increasing clouds, with a high near 33. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Friday night: A chance of snow showers, mainly after 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 32 by 5 a.m. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

2. Voter Registration Deadline for December’s Special Town Meeting is Today

Foxborough's Board of Registrars will be holding voter registration day to register new voters prior to the Special Town Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 11. Registration will be held at the office of the Town Clerk and is scheduled as follows:

  • Friday, Nov. 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Last day you can register to be eligible to vote for the Special Town Meeting. All Foxborough residents interested in registering to vote or changing their party enrollment may appear to complete a voter registration application.

An applicant for registration must be:

  • At least 18 years of age by the date of the election
  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of the town of Foxborough

3. Foxborough’s Winter Parking Ban Begins Saturday

Foxborough’s winter parking ban takes effect on Saturday, Dec. 1 and will last through April. The ban prohibits on-street parking, parking on sidewalks and parking in public lots from 1 to 6 a.m. Violators will be ticketed. If violation occurs during a snowstorm, vehicles will be towed.

4. Foxborough High School Hosts Guest Speaker

Brian Boyle will speak to students at Foxborough High School from 1 to 2 p.m.

5. Patriot Place Events:

  • Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops: Enjoy a free photo with Santa, games crafts and more at Santa’s Wonderland.
  • 11 a.m. - Winter Wonder - Creation Station: Join Patriot Place for hands-on art activities that explore a wide range of art media and tools. Today you can make Magic Color Mitten Ornaments.
  • 8 p.m. - Jack Ingram & Radney Foster at Showcase Live: Jack Ingram won the 2008 Academy of Country Music award for “Best New Male Vocalist.”  Check out his songs during his performance at Showcase Live!
  • 9:30 p.m. - Greg Burroughs at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill: Based out of Nashville, Greg Burroughs brings a fresh and exciting new sound to country music by staying true to its country roots, yet pushing the boundaries of the “Nashville” sound.
