1. Expect Mostly Sunny Conditions with a High Near 76

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for mostly sunny, with a high near 76. East wind 3 to 8 mph. Tuesday night: A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 9 p.m. Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Northeast wind around 7 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. Patriots Resume Practice Tuesday; Public In-Stadium Practice is Wednesday

After an off day Monday, the Patriots return to practice Tuesday. Training camp will be open to the public from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the practice fields of Gillette Stadium. The Patriots Fan Zone will also be open from noon to 6 p.m. A reminder that Wednesday’s practice will be held inside Gillette Stadium from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and is open to season ticketholders and Foxborough residents. Complimentary tickets are required for entry and are free. They can be picked up with proof of residency at Town Hall, the senior center and the public safety building.

3. Fresh Air Fund Southern Mass. Committee Welcomes NYC Children to Foxborough Wednesday

The Southern Massachusetts Committee will be welcoming 15 New York City children as they arrive in Foxborough on Wednesday, Aug. 1. Volunteer host families share their summers for up to two weeks with Fresh Air children, ages six to 18, who leave behind the city streets to run barefoot in the grass or see the stars at night. Some youngsters are leaving home for the first time, while others are returning to visit the same host families for consecutive summers. These host families are from Wrentham, Foxborough, Seekonk, Mansfield and Norton.

The Fresh Air Fund is an independent, not-for-profit agency that has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Each summer, over 4,000 children visit volunteer host families in rural, suburban and small town communities across 13 states from Virginia to Maine and Canada.

4. Events:

  • 11 a.m. - Storytime at Showcase Cinema de Lux: Meet Curious George at Kids Club Storytime Tuesday.
  • Noon - Summer Sensation 2012 - Bounce Houses: Today’s regularly scheduled Bounce House Fun is relocated to the Patriots Fan Zone. Don’t miss out on the action at Patriots Fan Zone, an interactive football – themed area open to fans of all ages.
  • 6:30 p.m. - Zumba on the Plaza: Join Fierce Love Fitness and Company for a series of FREE Outdoor Zumba® Fitness Classes held outside of Olympia Sports in the North Marketplace.
  • 7-9 p.m. - Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro – VinOlympics: Tastings wines continue to compete in the VinOlympics featuring five wine varietals. Twenty wines from seven different countries will compete for the closing ceremony gold medal award. Cost is $10.

5. Legislature Finishes up 2011-2012 Session

The Massachusetts Legislature finishes up formal debate for the 2011-2012 legislative session today.
