1. Expect a Chance of Showers with a High Near 81

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a slight chance of showers after 11 a.m. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent. A slight chance of showers before 9 p.m. Patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. Trader Joe’s Now Accepting Employment Applications

Trader Joe’s, which is scheduled to open at Patriot Place on Friday, Sept. 7, will begin accepting applications and interviewing potential “Crew Members” on Monday, July 30 at 10 a.m.

The hiring event will then continue throughout the week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Applicants interested in becoming a “trader on the culinary high seas” should visit the Trader Joe’s hiring location in Patriot Place's North Marketplace, across from Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse. Interested individuals need to apply in person and can obtain an application on site or online at www.traderjoes.com/pdf/employment_application.pdf.

3. Registration Begins for Boyden Library’s ‘Father Goose Tales’

Registration begins at Boyden Library's Children's Desk on Monday, July 30 for "Father Goose Tales" by Jim Napolitano of Nappy's Puppets. This shadow puppet program will take place on Aug. 9 at the Foxboro Recreation Building at 68 Mill St. at 2 p.m. Families with children ages 3 and older are invited to register. Call (508) 543-1246. Sponsored by the Friends of the Boyden Library in cooperation with the Foxboro Recreation Department.

4. Events:

  • Patriots Day Off: The Patriots players will enjoy a day off from Training Camp before resuming on Tuesday from 1:30 to 4 p.m. (open to the public).
  • 11 a.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Airbrush Tattoo: These colorful tattoos last two to three days and are sure to make you look cool.  Choose from dozens of designs to adorn your body — from tribal bands to flowers and everything in between.
  • 11 a.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Creation Station: Join Patriot Place for hands-on art activities that explore a wide range of art media and tools. Today you can make bug boxes.

5. Gov. Patrick to Sign Casino Compact Monday

Governor Deval Patrick is expected to sign H.4261 – Resolve Relating To The Tribal-State Compact Between The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe And The Commonwealth Of Massachusetts at 3:30 p.m. Monday. For more on the compact, click here.
