1. Expect a Chance of Showers with Thunderstorms Possible After 1 p.m.

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Thursday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

2. Patriots Open 2012 Training Camp

It’s an unofficial holiday today in Foxborough for New England Patriots fans everywhere as the Pats officially open their 2012-2013 season with the start of training camp at Gillette Stadium. Practice is open to the public and begins at 1:30 p.m. – weather permitting.

3. Foxboro Jaycees’ Concerts on the Common Series Presents MAGNUS

Bring a blanket or chair and join the community and friends for a night of great music on Foxboro Common. The Jaycees will be selling candy, soda and other goodies as the band MAGNUS will perform on the gazebo stage Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. Sponsored this week by Rodman Ford.

4. Events:

  • 11 a.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Bounce Houses: Located outside of Red Robin, enjoy great views of Gillette Stadium as the kids bounce the day away. Dates and times for this activity are subject to change and is weather permitting.
  • 3 p.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Anna's Talking Hands: Puppeteer Anna Sobel entertains children, engaging minds and imaginations as well as their sense of humor. This week’s performance is based on P.D. Eastman’s Are You My Mother? 
  • 3 to 6 p.m. - Farmers Market at Patriot Place: Attend the Patriot Place Farmers’ Market featuring the freshest and finest from local growers and purveyors across New England.
  • 4:30 p.m. - Mass Cruisers Auto Club - FREE Cruise Night: The Mass Cruisers Auto Club, Bass Pro Shops and Patriot Place want you to once again enjoy your evening of cruising nostalgia and fun.
  • 6 p.m. - Fun and Games with 5Wits: Join 5 Wits at 6 p.m. for a night of fun and games. Try some of its favorite board and card games and have a chance to take them home for a steal.
  • 7 p.m. - Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro – VinOlympics: Tastings hosts its opening ceremony of the VinOlympics, featuring  five wine varietals. Twenty wines from seven different countries will compete for the closing ceremony gold medal award.
  • 7 p.m. - Live Music at Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro: Join Tastings on the patio from 7-10 p.m. to see Matt Michienzie perform.
  • 8 p.m. - Tank performs at Showcase Live: Tank is one of the most recognizable names in modern R&B, known for vivid storytelling and sensual love songs. He’s an icon in the making, with four albums and eight Grammy nominations under his belt.
  • 9 p.m. - LEVEL ONE Clubnight at CBS Scene: Join CBS Scene for the opening of LEVEL ONE at CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar Thursday, July 26th. DJ Plan B will be spinning the hottest music alongside the new AMP 103.3 and the AMPtourage. Doors open at 9 p.m.
  • 9:30 p.m. - Shotgun Still at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill: Shotgun Still is the New England area’s newest, and hottest cover band. After years as a party band, playing in many of the area’s top music venues, these musicians are taking their sounds to Patriot Place.

5. Planning Board to Meet at Town Hall to Discuss Housing Production Plan
