Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. West wind around 5 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Wednesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 66. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

2. Foxborough Recreation Presents ‘Movie Under the Stars’ at Booth Playground

Foxborough’s Recreation Department is hosting a free, fun event for the family Wednesday. “Movies Under the Stars” will be held at Booth playground. The snack bar will be open and people attending are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and come out with the family. The movie will begin at dusk. Watch the YouTube video above to see which movie will be playing – hint: it’s a sequel to a children’s movie starring The Rock.

3. Community Blood Drive at Right at Home

on 10 Lincoln Rd., Ste. 116 will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday from 1-7 p.m. To make an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org/ma, or call 1-800-REDCROSS (1-800-733-2767) or the Right at Home Community Event Line at (508) 762-1949.

4. Events:

  • 10 a.m. - Showcase Cinema de Lux Bookworm Wednesdays: Stop by for Bookworm Wednesdays, a summer literacy program. Each Wednesday until Aug. 8, children who present a book report will receive free admission to a special film at 10 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Face Painting: Visit where the face painters will make you look cool to shop.
  • 3 p.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Animal Adventures: Experience an amazing animal program that is both fun and educational presented by an expert "Adventure Guide."
  • 3-4 p.m. - Kidville Krafts: Join Kidville today for free summer crafts and discounted playspace rates.
  • 7-10 p.m. - Live Music at Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro: Welcome Bill McGoldrick featuring Pam Stiebler to Music Series located at the Tastings’ patio.

5. New England Revolution Viewing Party at CBS Scene

is hosting a viewing party for the New England Revolution as the MLS franchise travels to Montreal for an 8 p.m. match. It will be the first time in MLS history these two teams have met. A Revs’ player will be on site to meet fans and watch the game and Damon Amendolara of 98.5 The Sports Hub will broadcast The DA Show before and after the Revs play You might even get a chance to be a part of the show.

The Rev Girls and Budweiser will have giveaways as well for your chance to win great prizes such as Revs tickets and autographed gear. The game will be on CBS Scene’s massive outdoor screen with the volume turned up, so make sure you get there before 8 p.m. to get a seat on the outdoor deck (weather permitting).
