Today the editors of Norton PatchFoxborough Patch, and Mansfield Patch will hold a Patch Academy at Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce, 280 School St., Mansfield 7:45 to 9 a.m.

We want to show you, our readers, how to upload photos and videos to our Patch sites and use our business directory and introduce you to Local Voices, where people from the community can have their own blogs to write about things they care about.

We also want to show you how we use social media like Facebook and Twitter to share our stories and interact with readers. Patch Academy is open to everyone and is free, so please stop by, talk with us and learn about all of the great ways that Patch can serve you and your community.

Whether there's something you'd like to see more of on our sites, you're curious about how we operate or you want to know how to submit items for your school, business or organization, this is a great opportunity to learn more about Patch.

3. Seniors Can Sign-up Today for Trip to New York City

Beginning at 8 a.m. today, seniors are invited to sign-up for the Foxboro Council on Aging and Tours of Distinction to New York City on Sunday, Nov. 4th through Monday, Nov. 5th. Seniors can sign up by calling the senior center at (508) 543-1252 on Wednesday.

When on this trip, you will head to The Big Apple on a Bloom Tour Bus to sightsee in “The City that Never Sleeps.” Your escort/guide will point out all of the famous sights from Central Park to Fifth Avenue, the Broadway Theater District, Times Square, and the colorful neighborhoods of Lower Manhattan.

Participants will stay overnight in the Hilton Hotel of Newark, N.J. Dinner will be included at the Chart House Restaurant on the Hudson River looking across at the magnificent skyline of Manhattan.

The next morning, after a full breakfast buffet included at the Hilton, you will continue to Liberty Park to board the ferry to the Ellis Island National Monument and the Statue of Liberty. After your time on Ellis Island, the ferry will continue to Battery Park where the bus will be waiting to take you to visit the Ground Zero Sept. 11 Memorial on the site of the World Trade Center Towers.

You will also have the opportunity to see the new National Sept. 11 Memorial Museum.

The cost for this trip is $309 per person for a double; $289 for a triple; and $369 for a single room. Prices include tips for tour escort and bus driver.
Checks should be made payable to “Tours of Distinction.” A deposit of $150 is due at sign-up with the full remaining payment due by Sept. 14th.

Your motorcoach bus will depart from St. Mary’s Church parking
lot at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4th and will return home on Nov. 5th at approximately 7:45 p.m.
