5 Things for Dec. 5: Taylor School Holiday Shoppe, AdCom Preps for Town Meeting, Pats Tickets Giveaway and More

Here's five things you need to know in Foxborough for today, Dec. 5.

1. Expect a Rainy Wednesday in Foxborough

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for showers, mainly before noon. Patchy fog before 8 a.m. High near 54. West wind 10 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. Wednesday night: Clear, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 13 to 16 mph.

2. Taylor School Holiday Shoppe

The Taylor School cafeteria will be transformed into a present-filled shopping zone where kids can select holiday gifts for family members and other loved ones. The Holiday Shoppe will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and features a wide variety of items priced $5 and under, including gifts for pets!
The profits from the Holiday Shoppe are donated to the Foxborough Discretionary Fund to help families in need in our community. Kids can even wrap the gifts they buy in the gift-wrap area so the presents remain a surprise until they are given! Cash or checks accepted.

3. Advisory Committee Preps for Special Town Meeting

Foxborough’s Advisory Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the Andrew Gala Meeting Room of Town Hall to discuss Special Town Meeting warrant articles and prepare for Town Meeting, which will be held on Dec. 11 at Foxborough High School.

4. Patriot Place Events:

  • Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops: Enjoy a free photo with Santa, games crafts and more at Santa’s Wonderland.
  • Help the Foxborough Food Pantry at Old Navy: From now through Dec. 19 Old Navy will be collecting non-perishable food items to benefit the Foxborough Food Pantry. Help those in need this holiday season and make a donation today.
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Gresh and Zo Ticket Giveaway at CBS Scene: Stop by CBS Scene for lunch every Wednesday during the LIVE Gresh & Zo broadcasts and enter to win a pair of tickets to a Patriots home game.
  • 3 p.m. - Winter Wonder 2012 - Henry the Juggler: Henry the juggler is considered armed (and legged) and dangerous. He is known to cause outbursts of laughter with his ability to juggle and toss rings, clubs and other apparatus of his trade.

5. Financial Aid Night at Foxborough High School

Foxborough High School will hold Financial Aid night with Joe O’Neil at 6:45 p.m.
