1. Expect a Hot and Sunny Friday in Foxborough on the Last Day of August

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for mostly sunny, with a high near 91. West wind 8 to 17 mph. Friday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between midnight and 3 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

2. Knights of Columbus Family Picture Contest

The Foxborough-Sharon Knights of Columbus is running a Labor Day weekend photo contest. Submit a photo of your family from this summer or Labor Day weekend and the Knights of Columbus will be judging based on creativity and content. Please submit your photo to kofc6063@gmail.com by Sept. 6 to be eligible for the contest. The two most fun and creative pictures will win a gift certificate to Dairy Queen in Foxborough. 3. Turf’s Up Fundraiser at Loewen’s Deli Today

Stop by Loewen’s Deli Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and support Foxborough’s Turf’s Up effort to bring a turf field to the town of Foxborough for its athletic programs. Residents can help the project by switching their energy provider to Viridian, which results in a free sandwich. Participants need their utility account information on hand. Turf’s Up receives $2 monthly plus bonuses from the company for each referral. 4. Events:

  • 8 p.m. - Introduction: The Chicago Experience at Showcase Live: Introduction: The Chicago Experience pays very careful attention to every musical and vocal nuance to deliver what is the most memorable Chicago show of any Chicago tribute band in the United States and Canada.
  • 9:30 p.m. - Aid to Navigation at Toby Keith's I Love this Bar & Grill: Aid to Navigation is an original rock, pop, and blues band that also performs covers of everything under the sun.

5. No Parking Citations Issued During Country Fest

Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary said the town did not issue any fines during last weekend’s Country Fest for residents in violation of the town’s recently established parking bylaw that restricts residents from parking vehicles on their property for a fee during Gillette Stadium events with crowds over 15,000.
