1. NWS Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook for Norfolk County

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook in Foxborough for Tuesday. According to the advisory, occasional heavy downpours Tuesday morning have the potential to cause localized urban and poor drainage flooding Tuesday morning.

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., then scattered showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. High near 79. Southwest wind around 11 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. North wind around 8 mph.

2. Foxborough Police Chief Says Proactive Approach Led to Mass Arrests During Country Fest

In case you missed, it Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary met with media outside the Foxborough Public Safety Building Monday afternoon to discuss the mass arrests and incidents reported over the weekend during the ninth annual New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium. O’Leary said the reason behind the 102 arrests and more than 600 incidents that resulted from the two-day concert festival was more preparation by his department and a proactive approach by officers and security personnel during the event. 3. Foxborough Public Schools Staff Development Day

The Foxborough Public Schools will be holding a staff development day from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as staff members around the district prep for the return of Foxborough students and the first day of school on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

4. Events:

• 11 a.m. - Storytime at Showcase Cinema de Lux: Meet Barney at Kids Club Storytime.
• Noon - Summer Sensation 2012 - Bounce Houses: Jump around all afternoon in inflatable bounce houses. Located in the North Marketplace outside of Tastings Wine Bar and Bistro, enjoy great views of Gillette Stadium as the kids bounce the day away.
• 6:30 p.m. - Zumba on the Plaza: Join Fierce Love Fitness and Company for a series of free outdoor Zumba® fitness classes at Patriot Place. The class takes place outside of Olympia Sports.

5. Obama Administration and HOPE NOW to Host Free Help for Homeowners Community Event at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday 

A free Help for Homeowners community event, sponsored by the Obama Administration’s Making Home Affordable Program and the HOPE NOW Alliance, will be held at for all homeowners who may be at risk of foreclosure. The event is free, open to the public, and provides a chance for homeowners to meet face-to-face with their mortgage company and a HUD-approved counseling agency to work on a solution to help them stay in their home.

Many of the largest mortgage companies are scheduled to be in attendance including Bank of America, Carrington, Chase, Citi Mortgage, GMAC Mortgage, Homeward Residential (formerly American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc.), HSBC, NationStar, Ocwen, OneWest, PNC, Rockland Trust, Select Portfolio Servicing, Seterus, US Bank and Wells Fargo.

Additionally, there will be several non-profit housing counselors from local organizations and representatives from other mortgage market participants. The event begins at 1 p.m. and lasts until 8 p.m. at Gillette Stadium’s Putnam Club West.
