1. Mostly Sunny Monday with highs in the Upper 80s

Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for
mostly sunny. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the upper 80s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Monday Night: Partly cloudy. Patchy fog after midnight. Lows in the lower 60s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.

2. Register Your Child for Fall Sports Leagues at the Invensys Foxboro YMCA

The Invensys Foxboro Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA is now accepting registrations for Fall Youth Sports Leagues. Such leagues include Coed Youth Soccer, NFL Flag Football, and Cheerleading.  Coed Youth Soccer (ages 4-9) begins on Sunday, Sept. 16. NFL Flag Football (ages 6-14) and Cheerleading (ages 6-9) begin on Friday, Sept. 14.  YMCA members can register at the front desk, online at www.hockymca.org, or contact the member service desk at (508) 543-2523.  For non-member registration, please stop by the Invensys Foxboro Branch located at 67 Mechanic St. For more information, please contact Greg O’Connor, Sports Director at (508) 772-1336 or grego@hockymca.org.

3. School Committee Meets Tonight

The Foxborough School Committee meets at 6 p.m. Monday at the Chapel Meeting House on 68 Mill St. to review food service federal guidelines and implications on school lunch prices. The committee will also discuss the 2012-13 district goals.

4. Events:

  • 11 a.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Creation Station: Join Patriot Place for hands-on art activities that explore a wide range of art media and tools. Today you can make a sunflower windsock.
  • 11 a.m. - Summer Sensation 2012 - Airbrush Tattoo: These colorful tattoos last two to three days and are sure to make you look cool.  Choose from dozens of designs to adorn your body — from tribal bands to flowers.
  • 1:30 to 4 p.m. – Patriots Training Camp: For Patriots fans who want to get closer to the action or are looking for an inexpensive way to entertain the kids, Patriots Training Camp offers just the ticket.
  • 8 p.m. - FX Boston Party at Showcase Live: FX, the top High School Party in New England. Join high schoolers from all over Greater Boston and beyond for a dance party club night that you just can't get anywhere else.

5. Foxborough Democratic Town Committee Meets at 7 p.m.

Foxborough Democratic Town Committee (FDTC) will hold its monthly meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the Foxborough Public Safety Building. The meetings are open and all are welcome to attend. If you are interested in getting involved with a Democratic campaign in this election year, the committee encourages you to come to the meeting to meet and talk with candidates or their representatives. All Foxborough Democrats are especially encouraged to come and see what the FDTC is all about. We are currently seeking new members and associate members, but attending does not carry any obligation.
