Vintage images coupled with facts and anecdotes culled by local author Jeffrey Peterson reveal the fascinating history of legendary locals in Foxboro. Since its foundation in 1704 as part of the original Mass Bay Colony, this community has held courage, intelligence, innovation and athleticism in high regard, making Foxboro a natural fit to house the emblematic New England Patriots.

“Every journey begins with a vision, a spark of imagination to illuminate the frontiers of progress,” said author Jeffrey Peterson. The book covers both town greats and unsung heroes like Russell Harden III, a young Foxboro film student that went on to create famous James Bond movie trailers; Jackie O’Reilly, owner of the former Rexall family drugstore that became a trustee with the Boston Ballet Society; and Paul Stanton, who grew up playing hockey on local ponds and later went on to win the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburg Penguins.

Peterson is excited to share the new book with locals. “It just may be possible to give readers a taste of what makes Foxboro a remarkable place,” he said.
