Foxboro 11-year-old baseball team competes in Cal Ripken Championship Game

The 2013 Cal Ripken District 4 Tournament, hosted by the Norton Youth Baseball and Softball Association, had a strong showing from the Foxboro Warriors 11-year-old “A” baseball team.

Held at the Lee Burchill Field Complex, there were six teams contesting to win the double elimination tournament with “A” teams from Dedham, Foxboro, Mansfield, Norton, Stoughton and Wrentham all competing in the 11 year old division which began June 21st. 

In Foxboro’s first game, played Saturday, June 22nd, Foxboro defeated Norton 11-0, the game ended early due to slaughter rule. The second game for Foxboro was played Sunday, June 23rd, Foxboro defeated Mansfield in a come from behind victory 12-6. The third game in the Cal, played Monday, June 24th, the Warriors continued their winning streak and overcame Stoughton 10-3.  The fourth game delivered the first loss to Foxboro on Thursday evening June 27, with Stoughton coming out on top,
11-3, necessitating another game in this double elimination tournament held Friday evening where Foxboro lost to Stoughton, 3-6.

Pitching for the tournament games was handled by a rotation of Reece Rappoli, Michael Devlin and Will Morrison; Nolan Rappoli ran the bat boy duties.
