Splitsville Petition to be Presented to Selectmen Tonight

A lot has happened in the two weeks since the selectmen's 3-2 vote to deny a liquor license to Splitsville and tonight the selectmen will address and discuss the latest developments.

At 6:15 p.m. and again at 7:15 p.m., the selectmen will enter executive session to discuss strategy regarding litigation matter, ABBC appeal of stadium liquor license matter.

In between the executive sessions, the board will address the petition to reconsider the Splitsvile vote. According to former selectman Lynda Walsh, who has been involved with the campaign to reconsider the vote, supporters of Splitsville have submitted 604 signatures to the selectmen with an estimated 100 more to present at tonight's meeting.

Of the three selectmen who voted against the transfer, Ginny Coppola and Lorraine Brue have briefly addressed their votes publicly while tonight would be John Gray's first public comments on the matter after the vote.

In guest columns for the Foxboro Reporter, Coppola reaffirmed her vote and said a petition should be sent to Splitsville to reconsider their business model rather than the selectmen while Brue expressed her concern with the amount of alcohol already located at Patriot Place.
