Badfish - A Tribute to Sublime

Showcase Live, 23 Patriot Pl, Foxborough, MA | Get Directions »
$15.00

The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have,or did, but as Badfish does.

Build A Machine formed in 2007, naming the group after a lyric from a Jane's  Addiction song. The bands first offering "Once Around The Sun" was a collection of songs written in The Salton Sea, CA. While in the studio recording their debut release, the group got the attention of drummer Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros) who enjoyed the music so much that he added percussion to there track "Make It Happen." Upon completion of the album, the band hit the road all over North America to promote it, selling 2,000 copies independently. For the groups second offering, their self-titled EP, BAM packed up their gear and headed up north. Armed with a new outlook and positive inspiration, the group rented a lake house near Portland, Maine where they lived and recorded
their new EP over the course of three months. With mixing duties provided by Dave Aron (Sublime, Snoop Dogg), Build A Machine's Self-Titled EP offers an eclectic mix of reggae, funk, and rock which "harbors back to a time of George Clinton with a dollop of Rage Against the Machine tossed in for good measure."

Spiritual Rez

There is nothing more mind-bending than diverse sounds and omni-present textures…the music that changes your mind and your soul. The Spiritual Rez reggae dance experience is an unabashed display of musical virtuosity. When paired with a deep, sub-sonic groove and powerful heart felt vocalization; crowds are left dancing and screaming for more. Over the past 8 years, these six men have relentlessly...  toured the country to share their music and appreciation of the arts. Rooted in rock, reggae, and funk; their diversity exemplifies their love and desire to put on a live experience that will not only cut to your core, but also ignite the inner flame that exists in us all. A constant festival favorite, The Rez can shake a stage like a psychedelic dance earthquake. Evoking their personal power animals, they fearlessly forge into the musically unknown, creating a masterpiece every performance. It's this power, this creative desire, that has fans traveling across the nation to experience this raw and intoxicating display of musical bliss.
