Work Out World (WOW) hung their banner on the former Bradlees building, officially announcing their presence in Foxborough back in March of 2011. WOW, a fitness chain founded in New Jersey, is just about ready to officially occupy a 20,000-square-foot portion of the vacant Bradlees building on Commercial Street.WOW will join neighboring businesses Ocean State Job Lot, Dunkin Donuts, and Personal Best Karate. The fitness chain plans to open Monday, Nov. 7 in Foxborough.
Adults supporting underage drinking has caught the eye of Foxborough Police Chief Edward O'Leary. Providing alcohol to anyone under 21 is against the law, but some adults believe that supplying alcohol to underage kids in a "controlled" private residence is the more responsible action - claiming that kids are going to drink anyways. Voters at the annual town meeting on May 23 will have the opportunity to voice their opinions on the "social-host bylaw" proposal featured on the town warrant. Foxborough Town Meeting voters in May will decide as to whether adopt a .75 percent local meals tax that will bring the town additional revenue. Town Manager, Kevin Pacios, reviewed the local meals tax option in a presentation at this week's selectmen meeting, March 29. Foxborough Patch wants to hear from you on this matter. The Foxborough Board of Selectmen determined March 22, in a 3-2 vote, that Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub and Restaurant violated rule eleven of the town’s alcohol rules and regulations when three separate incidents involving individuals impaired by alcoholic beverages, point back to continued service at Waxy's. Selectmen suspended Waxy O'Connor's liquor license for 6 days – one to be served on a weekday for their first offense, another two days (one weekday, one weekend day) for their second offense, and three days on the weekend for their third offense (Friday-Sunday).
