What is going on with the Foxfield Plaza? Rumors have begun swirling around town of a new grocery store moving into the plaza near the Mansfield town line - the same location where Big Y was supposed to be developed before plans fell through - but nothing has been confirmed by town officials or the property's landlord, Harvey Smith. Foxborough Town Manager Kevin Paicos confirmed to Foxborough Patch last week there is a developer interested in buying the Foxfield Plaza but wouldn't say, per an agreement with the potential buyer, who the developers are or what the development will be. Cupcake Charlie's at Patriot Place is now open for business.
Cupcake Charlie's is now open for business at Patriot Place in Foxborough after a successful grand opening celebration Saturday. The family event featured cupcake giveaways, face painting, a photo booth, DJ and games for childern. "Huge success here in Foxborough," Cupcake Charlie's said of its grand opening via its Facebook page. FOXBOROUGH CBS Scene Serves Special Beer for One Fund Boston CBS Scene raised money for the One Fund Boston this week through sales of a rare Wormtown Brewing Co. beer tapped Wednesday to honor the one-month anniversary of the bombings at the Boston Marathon. The first pour of the beer, 4:09 pale ale from Wormtown Brewing Co., occurred at 4:09 p.m. Wednesday and the first sale came shortly thereafter with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The One Fund. “This is pretty phenomenal,” said Walpole resident Steve Dion after purchasing the first 4:09 pale ale at CBS Scene. “I just happened to walk into this [fundraiser]. Foxboro Sports Center's new addition has begun preparatory construction.
Foxborough town planner Susan Wason said the construction for the rink expansion project at the Foxboro Sports Center has begun in earnest in May. “The developer had it approved and he’s broken ground,” she said. Wason said the preparations and demolition of a building in the lot will commence in a few days. “The metal frame building sits in what will be the parking lot,” she said. “These two rows of parking are in, but the building is still sitting down. They just got the gas turned off, so they’re going to start to tear the building down and rough up the rest of the parking lot.” She added that for construction of the actual addition to the center to begin, the developer, Rich Touzos, has wait until May 23 to allow anyone to appeal the …
