Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Sophie (Yancowsky) Christie, 99, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Attleboro. She was the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine (Hamkalo) Yancowsky and the wife of the late Earl Christie.

Sophie was born on March 13, 1913 in Rockland and was educated in Foxborough Public Schools. She was an assembler at the Foxboro Company for over 20 years until her retirement in 1973. She was a ham radio operator, code sign K1RAA.

Beloved wife of the late Earl Christie. Loving mother of Cheryl Christie. Devoted grandmother of Catherine Maxim of Florida, Amy Stachelek of Plainville, and Caren Klenert of Florida. Sister of Thomas Yancowsky of West Virginia and Rose Perrault of Revere and the Great-Grandmother of Shawn, Sydney, Andrew, Samuel and Nicole.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend funeral services on Feb. 4, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough.
