Children of Hockomock Area YMCA Shine in Production of Honk! Jr.

Children of the Mansfield Arts & Education Center of the Hockomock Area YMCA performed Honk! Jr. at Foxborough's Orpheum Theatre last weekend.

Chidren of the Mansfield Arts & Education Center of the Hockomock Area YMCA presented Honk! Jr. on stage at Foxborough’s Orpheum Theatre last weekend. Director Heather Utsler-Smith pulled together a cast of more than 40 children, including some who have grown up with the Y’s youth theatre group. These young thespians range in age from 7-14 and had been rehearsing for the show since November.  Last weekend's show was the Hockomock Area YMCA youth theatre’s 25th production since its inception in 2006.  Honk! Jr. was performed with full lights, costumes, set and sound. Foxborough High School Jazz Combo Heads to NYC for Annual Charles Mingus Festival

The Foxborough High School Jazz Combo will spend the weekend in New York City for the annual Charles Mingus Festival.

Students of the Foxborough High School Jazz Combo got an early start to February vacation Friday as the group of musicians arrived in New York City for the 5th annual Charles Mingus High School Festival & Competition. The festival, produced by Sue Mingus, The Charles Mingus Institute, Justin DiCioccio and the Manhattan School of Music, takes place from Feb. 15-18 in NYC. “This year’s festival will include a film showcase, student jams, a full day of instrumental clinics exploring the music of Charles Mingus, three nights of performances by the Mingus Big Band at Jazz Standard, and the nationwide Competition showcasing young jazz talent from high schools across the country,” according to the Charles Mingus Festival & Competition’s website. …

Bon Jovi Tickets for Gillette Stadium Show Go on Sale Friday

Tickets to Bon Jovi "Because We Can - The Tour" at Gillette Stadium in July go on sale Friday, Feb. 15.

Bon Jovi is returning to Foxborough this summer for the first time since 2010 for his new tour "BON JOVI Because We Can - The Tour." The concert, slated for Saturday, July 20th at Gillette Stadium, will kick-off an action-packed two months of music in Foxborough with Taylor Swift's two shows at Gillette Stadium coming the week after Bon Jovi and Kenny Chesney's annual two-day New England Country Music Festival returning to Gillette Stadium August.  Tickets for the Bon Jovi concert go on sale Friday, Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster. “Rock fans in New England love Bon Jovi and especially love seeing them at Gillette Stadium, where ‘This is Our House’ is the official touchdown song,” said Dan Murphy, Gillette Stadium vice president of …

'Famously Talented' A Cappella Choir Performs for Foxborough School Committee

A Foxborough High School A Cappella choir performed two songs for Foxborough's School Committee during Monday's meeting.

Monday night’s School Committee meeting opened with a performance based Teaching and Learning Highlight featuring one of Foxborough High School's A Cappella choirs led by Mr. David Piper.   Described by Foxborough Schools Superintendent Debra Spinelli as “famously talented,” the Mixed A Cappella choir consists of members ranging in age from freshmen to seniors and includes both boys and girls. The ensemble meets prior to the start of their school day at 6:45 a.m. twice a week to perform popular music ranging from doo-wop to contemporary radio hits. All music is performed without instrumental accompaniment, includes vocal percussion, multiple soloists, and creative arrangements that utilize all aspects of the human voice. Mixed A Cappella …

Bon Jovi Returning to Gillette Stadium in Summer 2013

Bon Jovi will be in Foxborough on July 20, 2013 to perform at Gillette Stadium as part of his new tour, "BON JOVI Because We Can - The Tour."

Adding to its already stellar lineup of summer concerts, Gillette Stadium announced Sunday that Bon Jovi will be returning to Foxborough on July 20, 2013 for his "BON JOVI Because We Can - The Tour." Bon Jovi will take the stage in Foxborough one week before Taylor Swift's two shows at Gillette Stadium and just over one month before Kenny Chesney's annual two-day New England Country Music Festival. Bon Jovi has enjoyed his time in Foxborough, performing in front of sold out crowds at Gillette Stadium in 2003 and 2010. Tickets for the July concert will go on sale early in 2013. Kenny Chesney Says Foxborough 'Special' Place to Play; Excited for 2 Shows at Gillette in 2013

Kenny Chesney told 102.5's JW & Lori that playing in Foxborough is "very special" and he's "very excited" to be returning to Gillette Stadium in August 2013 for two country music concerts.

It's no secret country music star Kenny Chesney loves performing in Foxborough as he has sold out Gillette Stadium annually for nearly a decade. On Dec. 7, Chesney shared his affection for Foxborough and his New England fans with 102.5's JW & Lori during a morning interview with the Boston radio station to promote his "No Shoes Nation" Tour, which will stop at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 23-24 in 2013. "Obviously we play at other places but to play at Gillette again for two nights in a row … this will be the third year in a row that we’ve done two shows in a row and that hasn’t happened anywhere in the world for us," Chesney told the radio station. 44 Ahern Middle School students participate in two-show performance of "Run for the Money."

Forty-four Ahern Middle School students showcased their talents and love for the arts this weekend during a two-day performance of Pat Cook's "Run for the Money." The play takes place in the living room of the late Fosdick Floogee, an eccentric game enthusiast who does not put much faith in his family. After his death, he leaves his estate to his family members but they must find their inheritance. To accomplish this, he gives each family member a clue as to how they can find their fortune. The audience watched drama club students bring to life the characters' antics that underlined this slightly crazy family as they used greed and trickery to find what they felt they were owed. Chesney Adds Second Show to 2013 Country Fest at Gillette Stadium

Country music star Kenny Chesney’s two-day ‘No Shoes Nation’ Tour stop in Foxborough will be Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23-24, 2013.

Country music star Kenny Chesney is returning to Foxborough for two nights in 2013, annoucing he will add a second show in August at Gillette Stadium as part of his "No Shoes Nation" tour. Chesney, along with several other country music stars, will be in Foxborough on Aug. 23-24, 2013 for the 10th annual New England Country Music Festival, better known as "Country Fest." Gillette Stadium announced Chesney added the additional show in Foxborough due to overwhelming demand for his Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 concert. Chesney hold the Gillette Stadium record for most sold out concerts with eight and is expected to continue that sellout streak when tickets for both shows go on sale on Saturday, Dec. 8 at ticketmaster.com.   To commemorate the …

Check out these scenes from the Foxborough High School Drama Club's performance of 'Arsenic and Old Lace' this past weekend at FHS.

Forty-three Foxborough High School students impressed over the weekend with a fantastic performance of Joseph Kesselring's "Arsenic and Old Lace." The talented cast of 14 FHS Drama Club students brought Kesselring's play to life in 1941 Brooklyn. The three-act play took place inside the Brewster home where two "charming and innocent ladies populate their cellar with the remains of socially acceptable roomers." Rebecca Regan (Abby Brewster) and Sydney Raymond (Martha Brewster) shined in their roles as the Brewster sisters, perfectly portraying the simple and innocent nature of the women who in a word were killers.
