VIDEO: Proposed Casino Sends Demonstrators to Gillette Monday
Residents who opposed and supported the idea of a casino across from Gillette Stadium lined Route 1 Monday
Opponents and proponents of a proposed $1 billion casino lined Route 1 Monday at Patriot Place with signs in hand.
The demonstrators arrived in response to news last week that Patriots owner Robert Kraft is in discussion with Las Vegas developer Steve Wynn about building the casino on approximately 200 acres across from Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place.
The Foxborough planning board will meet Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Ahern School.
*Correction: Foxborough's town meeting will be held Monday night. The casino will not be discussed.

If they can come up with a good plan for the following then I support it...otherwise against.
1. Rte 1 Traffic
2. How to limit back roads traffic
3. Property Value

I agree with Chris. Kraft/Wynn will come up with first class solutions for these points and I will also support a casino for my hometown.

Those are some pretty nice opposition signs? Where is the opposition getting this money from? Competing casinos?

Very, very sad to see an very disturbing sign on Beach Street! I understand Freedom of Speech but this sign is below "puppy shit" on my shoe. Using a persons grief to get to him.....that is as low as you can go it is disgusting. Sure hope your wife and children are proud of you.....you don't represent my Foxboro.

Follow the news coverage on the Milford/Patch website as well, with respect to casino's. Milford, as you know...has also been involved with casino groups, and they have recently joined the Hockomock League for sports as did Taunton. Follow the "immigration issue" in Milford, and read the back-log of comments from a recent violent death in Milford, dragged a quarter of a mile to one's death. The Patch covered it extensively, and now it's come to the Hockomock League. The illegal immigrants could easily take a bus provided by the pro-casino groups, and after a short drive down route 495, arrive in Foxboro at the proposed casino. Do you have cheap, affordable housing in Foxboro? Follow the Patch writer under the name of Rizoli. Although I do not agree with a lot of the writer's comments, he does however make some very good points....worth thinking about.

Frankly I found the opposed fact sheet from the no casino group offensive. Not only do they discriminate against anyone who is an immigrant, but they talk like anyone who makes under 56000/yr as a piece of crap. Maybe anyone in Foxboro who doesn't have a 500,000 dollar home is a freeloader or useless. Well to those putting out that fact sheet, I know alot of people in Foxboro who are unemployeed who would love a check of $37000 or 40,000 or even 56000/yr. Unless you have forgotten there are a lot of Foxboro residents who not only are unemployeed but also would love to see their taxes go down. I find you selfish, racist and mean to put out the fact sheet that you did. It lacks evidence base and lacks adequate resourcing. You don't represent the good hearts of Foxboro.

A great opportunity for foxboro, I totally support this casino and resort, it's so uneducated to have 5 and 6 yr olds out there holding no casino signs, way to go foxboro it's looks bad,

Please understand who you are responding to. It is quite clear that "Jacob" is a plant who is on various internet article and comment sections, including Facebooks "No-Fox Vegas". He also formed the "Jobs For Foxboro" on Facebook. He/she is most likely hired by Wynn. Therefore, is is safe to assume that there are more plants. It has been confirmed that Wynn hired Sage Systems, a Boston based political consulting firm and I am sure he has hired more firms to help with his campaign to get his casino approved. In addition to this, Wynn is sending letters to Foxboro residents, airing commerical and news ads, as well as paying young people low wages to go door to door in Foxboro to sway public opinion.
