Planning Board Votes to Approve Boyden Library Site Plan

The Boyden Library project is ready to move ahead.

Similar to football in Foxborough this week, the Boyden Library project is ready to go. The planning board voted 5-0 Thursday to approve the site plan for library project.

After three months of hearings on the site plan, the approval of the $11.7 million project by the planning board, was met by smiling faces in the Andrew A. Gala Jr. meeting room at Town Hall.

Library Trustee Chairman Jeffrey Lovely was "delighted"  that the project was moving forward.

Planning Board Vice Chairman, William Grieder, spoke about the process of democracy and thanked everyone involved.

The process of democracy is never without conflicts and compromises, something that the library project has been faced with over the last couple of months.

Now that the library site plan is approved, library trustees can move forward in obtaining construction drawings and bids for a contractor.

Renovations to the Boyden Library include a 14,600 square foot addition on the Baker Street side that will feature a glass-wall stairwell rising to a children’s loft.
