Valentine's Day Treat: Chocolate Ganache Truffles
Want to make your valentine an easy but delicious gift? Learn how to make chocolate ganache truffles using this recipe.
Here is a recipe that will send your valentine straight into your arms! Who doesn't love a box of chocolates? This recipe is not only easy but can modified to suit your chocolate needs!
Ingredients:
-12 ounces of Ghiradelli chocolate or chocolate chips of your choice
-Heavy Cream
-Any toppings and extracts of your choice (I used almond extract and finely chopped hazlenut, red and pink sugar powder, white chocolate, and cinnamon hearts as my ganache toppings. )
Directions:
1.) Heat 1/4 cup of heavy cream in a double broiler. Add chocolate chips and stir until the mixture is melted.
2.) Stir in any extracts now if you like. I used almond extract for my chocolate.
3.) Cover ganache mixture with plastic wrap and cool for at least an hour in the fridge. If you want to make square truffles like I did using the icecube container, add the warm ganache to the container and keep in to cool in the freezer.
4.) When the ganache in the fridge is cooled, spoon it out and form into balls. Then, roll the ganache into your toppings. I rolled my ganache balls into finely chopped hazlenuts. If you would like to dip them in chocolate, simply melt the chocolate over the double broiler without cream. Dip the truffles in cooled melted chocolate and let them cool in the fridge.
