The Foxborough High School boys' basketball team returned to their home court after a successful trip to Florida over winter break to tip off against unbeaten Taunton Friday night.

The Warriors entered the contest with a 6-1 record (unbeaten in Massachusetts) and 3-0 in the Hockomock League while Taunton took the court Friday looking to improve a 5-0 overall record (3-0 in the Hock).

And that's exactly what the Tigers did in a 62-54 win over Foxborough at FHS.

The Warriors (6-2, 3-1) were sluggish to start, digging themselves into a 14-4 hole after the first quarter. But Foxborough's shooters woke up in the second behind four 3-pointers from Tim O'Halloran and outscored Taunton 24-9 in the quarter to go into halftime with a 28-23 lead. Foxborough hit six 3-pointers in the quarter.

But Taunton quicly repaid the Warriors the favor with a 24-9 quarter of their own in the third to give the Tigers a 47-37 lead through 24 minutes of play. Foxborough was badly out-rebounded in the quarter.

In the final eight minutes Foxborough could not muster a significant run or string together enough defensive stops to make a comeback and fell for the first time in Hockomock League play this season, 62-54.

Tim O'Halloran led the Warriors with 15 points (five 3-pointers). Foxborough's Nick Ditullio added 10 points and Justin Zupanick chipped in with eight.

Corey Green led Taunton with 14 points and Gerald Cortijo-Pamilla and Carlos Carmona each added 13 apiece.

Foxborough returns to the hardwood Tuesday in Stoughton for a showdown with the Black Knights at 6:30 p.m.
