The Kraft Group filed a lawsuit against the town after its representatives weren't allowed to speak at the March 13 selectmen's meeting about the Route 1 billboard issue.

After filing the law suit, claiming their civil rights were violated, officials of the Kraft Group were allowed to speak at a selectmen's meeting March 27.

DeVellis said he wanted the meeting to see if the town and the Krafts could find a resolution the situation they were in.

"Robert (Kraft) said he was willing to drop the lawsuit," said DeVellis. "He appreciate us coming. He said it wasn't in his best interest to sue his business partners."

Selectmen chairman Larry Harrington said the Kraft Group spent $50,000 on the lawsuit. In dropping the suit, the Kraft Group didn't place any conditions on the town.
