President Barack Obama: Obama was of the height of discussion in early May 2011, when the President announced that Osama Bin Laden had been killed. A handful of Westwood residents reacted to the news, as did Westwood officials. 

GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney: Massachusetts Governor's Council Candidate Patrick McCabe recently discussed an article in the Washington Post that criticized Romney for his handling of judicial appointments.

The Scott Brown vs. Elizabeth Warren Senate race. Brown visited Mansfield late last year to talk about economic development at the Cabot Business Park, and just two weeks ago 12 Mansfield Town Democratic Committee members went to Springfield to officially endorse Warren as the Democrat opponent to Brown.

The U.S. Congress Fourth District election for Barney Frank's seat between Joe Kennedy III and Sean Bielat. Both have already been seen campaigning in the area.
