Foxboro Cable Access Offering HD Camcorder & Final Cut X Training Workshops

Part I workshop will be held Thursday, Feb. 21 from 7-9 p.m. and Part II will be held Feb. 28.

Foxboro Cable Access recently upgraded its equipment with the purchase and deployment of six new high defnition JVC HM150U camcorders; giving residents access to the latest in HD technology, as well as a simplified (tapeless) workflow.

The six cameras replace 10-year-old standard definition cameras and are available to all Foxborough residents producing content for air on the community channels.

As a result of the new equipment, Foxboro Cable Access is holding a two-part workshop teaching how to use the cameras and use Final Cut Pro X software to speed up your editing.

Here is more information on the two-part workshop:

PART 1 (Thursday, Feb. 21, 7-9 p.m.) – JVC Camcorder Review

  • Review of Camcorder Features
  • Checkout Process & Media Cards
  • Shooting Tips
  • Protecting Footage Files

PART 2 (Thursday, Feb. 28, 7-9 p.m.) - Using Final Cut Pro X for Fast Project Turnaround

Using the JVC camcorder with Final Cut Pro X can really speed up the entire process. In this workshop we will take some existing footage and walk through the FCP X editing process, including DVD burning.

  • Importing Footage from Media Card
  • Overview of FCP X
  • Basic Edits
  • Exporting – DVDs & YouTube
