Boyden Library Still Recovering from Wednesday's Flood
The library's Adult Circulation Desk and Adult Public Computers are the only services available Thursday due to Wednesday's flood.
The Boyden Library at Chestnut Green is still recovering from Wednesday's flood and as a result will not be fully operational Thursday.
As of Thursday afternoon, Margi Rossetti, Children's Librarian of Boyden Library said the the Adult Circulation Desk and Adult Public Computers are the only services available.
"The Children's Department and Adult materials stacks will be closed with possible partial opening later today," said Rossetti. "Please check the Boyden Library's Facebook page or call 508-543- 1245 or 508-543-1246 for further information."
For those looking for a specific children's or adut title, Rossetti says you can call the Children's Desk at 508-543-1246.
"We will be able to pull the material and have it waiting at the Adult Circulation Desk," Rossetti said. "Availability of a title can be checked from home by logging onto www.boydenlibrary.org and clicking on Online Catalog."
Wednesday morning's downpour caused flooding throughout Foxborough, including the temporary Boyden Library quarters at Chestnut Green forcing the library to operate under "partial services."
"The water entered through the back stairway exit of the building during [Wednesday] morning's downpour," Rossetti said. "Luckily materials were not damaged, but staff arrived to thoroughly soaked carpets and pools of standing water in the children's area."
Rossetti said Chestnut Green management contacted a recovery service and they came and extricated the water from the carpets, put the low stacks on blocks and set up fans to help dry out the library.
"That's where we are now," Rossetti said. "I'll try to keep all posted via Facebook. This morning it looked like the children's room could partially open, but now it doesn't look like it."
