Jake n JOES Sports Grille took another important step toward opening its Foxborough location Tuesday when the town’s Board of Selectmen issued the restaurant two entertainment licenses.
Jake n JOES is now licensed for seven-day entertainment and public entertainment on Sundays at its 25 Foxborough Blvd. location.
Entertainment permitted at the Foxborough sports grille will be the use of radio, TV (widescreen and cable) amplifiers and occasionally various instrumental music. Jake n JOES license applications showed the sports grille will occasionally have DJ and 2-3-piece band entertainment.
The restaurant’s Sunday live entertainment will be permitted from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Selectmen approved both license requests with a vote of 4-0. BOS chair James DeVellis recused himself from the review of the licenses because he has worked with the landowner of the property in the past.
It is still unknown when Jake N JOES Sports Grille plans to open its Foxborough location as the company continues to renovate the old Piccadilly Pub space. Jake n JOES representatives told Foxborough Patch in December the sports grille is expected to open at the end of January and hiring began just after the New Year.
