On Monday, July 23 from 9 to 11 a.m., TPC Boston in Norton will host a golf clinic for participants of the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Integration Initiative.
TPC Boston golf professionals and area sports legends will be on hand for this unique experience for 20 young people between the ages of 10-20 from the YMCA that will include golf instruction and an opportunity to play on this world class golf course. TPC Boston will also be hosting a second golf clinic for Integration Initiative participants on Monday, Aug. 13.
Ed Hurley, President of the Hockomock Area YMCA, will announce (from 9 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.) that Dick and Rick Hoyt have been selected to receive the 2012 Legends Award to be presented at the Hockomock Area YMCA’s seventh annual Legends Ball. The Legends Ball will take place on Tuesday, November 13.
In addition to the golf clinics, TPC Boston has teamed up with the Hockomock Area YMCAfor the third straight year to host the annual Legends Golf Classic that will be held at the TPC Boston on Tuesday, Oct. 9. All proceeds from these events will benefit the Hockomock Area YMCA’s Integration Initiative.
The Hockomock Area YMCA’s Integration Initiative was established in 2004 to provide children with special needs an opportunity to participate with their typically developing peers in all the programs, services and activities offered at the Y.
The program aims to improve social skills, build self-esteem, increase physical activity and independence and to enhance mutual respect among people of all abilities. To date, over 500 children and their families have participated in the YMCA’s innovative integration program.
